The Greek Ambassador in the UK donates books to Aberdeen Hellenic School
October 31, 2024Greek evening 2024
November 2, 2024A Greek Ambassador had never visited Aberdeen until now. Last Tuesday the 29th of October the Greek Ambassador in the UK, Mr Ioannis Tsaousis, visited our town and had many productive meetings.
Among them he met with members of Aberdeen Scottish Hellenic Society and Greek Academics from the Aberdeen and Robert Gordon Universities.
The meeting that took place in Kings College premises in Aberdeen University, was short but was very interesting, as it set the grounds for future collaboration not only between the Embassy and the Greeks in Aberdeen but also between the two countries.
The Ambassador and his team were welcome by the Chairman of ASHS Mr. Hamish Wilson. The Ambassador was accompanied by the first Secretary of Economic & Commercial Affairs Mrs. Christina - Eirini Mavromati. Present in the meeting was also Mrs. Deena Tissera, Councillor in Aberdeen City Council, who offered her help and advice for any matter that may arise in our community.
Mr. Tsaousis, before leaving, donated on behalf of the Embassy some books to the Hellenic School for the school's library.
An email will be send to the Greek Embassy concerning all the issues that we face as a community in Aberdeen and some ideas for collaboration that we could probably develop in the future. Given the opportunity, please, get in touch with us at aberdeenhellenicsociety@gmail.com with any concerns you may have, ideas or issues you would like to pass on to the Embassy.
