Talk: ”Galen’s Science, the Greco-Roman Elite and the Herculaneum Sewer”

17th/19th February:  as part of a “Galen Week” in Aberdeen, John Wilkins, Professor Emeritus of Greek Culture, University of Exeter, will be giving two talks on the famous Greek physician with intriguing titles, the first “Did Ancient Drugs work?  Galen said they did: is he correct”, and the second “Galen’s Science, the Greco-Roman Elite and the Herculaneum Sewer”.  These talks are being held under the joint auspices of our Society and the Classical Association Aberdeen and North of Scotland Centre.
