The Aberdeen Scottish Hellenic Society celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2020, having been founded in its present form in 1980. As part of the celebrations, we were kindly granted a Civic Reception by the Lord Provost to take place in May 2020. Sadly, this did not take place because of the pandemic. However, I am pleased to say that the Lord Provost has agreed that the rescheduled Civic Reception, still under the banner of our 40th Anniversary, will take place on Friday 7 June 2024 at 6.30 pm in the Town and County Hall, Town House, Aberdeen.

I have pleasure in enclosing a formal invitation from the Lord Provost and Members of Aberdeen City Council.

The format of the event will be as follows:

• 18.30 Arrival
• 18.40 Welcome by Lord Provost (or his representative)
• 18.50 Response by the Society
• 19.00 Buffet served
• 20.00 Finish

The buffet will include a vegetarian option; if anyone has an allergy or requires gluten free, please let me know as part of your reply.

We will also have a short musical interlude while the buffet is being served.

We hope to see a number of our former as well as current members at the event, along with other invited guests.
